I'm currently reading 4 books, listening to 1 album, watching 6 movies, eating and drinking 2 food items, and consuming 2 other things.

Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "The Summons" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Because I’m learning all of the following:
Any winnings over 10,000 cashed out in chips at the casino is treated just like any withdrawal at a bank over the same amount: it’s going to generate a paper trail.
Cameras at Vegas even hover over slot machines; just in case a minor happens to win at a pull of the slots. It seems that adults magically take the place of a minor when the pit bosses come to investigate
The University of Virginia, perhaps the best law school outside of the Ivy Leagues, resides in Charlottesville

Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "Desperation" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Because I’m learning all of the following:
Highway 50 in Central Nevada is considered to be the lonliest stretch of road in the U.S. Matter of fact, that’s its nickname.
Before the group was called “The Rascals”, they were called “The Young Rascals”, and their lead singer was Felix Cavaliere.
Edward Albee wrote “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolfe”.

Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "Jazz: A Film By Ken Burns" — 1 year ago

Cuz I”m learning the following:
Louie Armstrong was called “Pops”, because that’s what he called people whose name he couldn’t remember.
Louie also developed a blood callus on his upper lip that was from his constantly hitting high notes on the trumpet. This blood blister burst once while he was performing spattering all over his shirt.

WORTH CONSUMING!

The Coen brothers, as is their wont, love to use dialect particular to the region, or to the times.
For this movie, they “made up” Prohibition gangster phrases like: “you’re giving me the high hat”, and “what’s the rumpus”?

WORTH CONSUMING!

Contrary to what the movie claims, the Silver Bridge failed due to the implosion of one eye bolt, and heavy rush hour traffic that the bridge was neither designed, nor maintained for.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This very well could have been the inspiration for “the Matrix” series.

What I learned while watching Wah Wah: Swaziland gained their independence from Great Britian sometime in the early 70’s.

WORTH CONSUMING!

It was interesting to see Michael Emerson (the guy who plays Benjamin Linus on Lost) show up 8 years younger.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Where Michael Clayton (another Oscar nominated flick that disappointed heavily)failed to ignite, this delivered on all cylinders.
I learned that Javier Bardem cant drive, can hardly speak English, and he abhors violence.
Given the genius of the Cohen brothers, it was probably exactly why they choose him for the role.
