This really didn’t cover the part of Cathat history I was interested in.
Amazing- The early career of Saldin, the love and strife between Richard and Philip, the seige-within-a-seige at Acre, Saladin’s painful decsision to destroy Ascalon, the final treaty, and the tragic comedy of Richards attempts to get back to England are told so beautifully and clearly, it was like Reston was there, lurking in the shadows listening to Saladin confer with his Emir’s, hiding within earshot as Richard made another bawdy joke, and hovering above the epic battles…
I am having trouble getting into this, and it isn’t exactly what I was interested in reading (I am more interested in the Cathars leading up to and during the seige. This book is about the trials of some of the left-over heretics.
I’m going to take this with me on vacation this week, and re-absorb Planetary.
Great info- even the introductory info is incredibly useful.
Eye-opening so far, I am a big fan of “Toxic Sludge is Good For You”, one of thier earlier books.
Psst. Web Sites are becomming web applications, and web applications are becoming development platforms. Whee!
