I re-read this as a part of this goal Re-read the Harry Potter books before the launch of Harry Potter 7
Still good and worth reading again.
This was just ok for me. I think the book was structured well but in some places I felt a disjoint and got lost. It’s still worth reading though. It explains a lot of everyday economics easily.
It’s taking me too long to read, I started it more that a few times but I somehow just couldn’t get through it. And I can’t find the book now. I’ll probably pick it up again in a while.
I just bought this on Saturday, I can’t wait to read this.
It’s a very good read, but a book you should spend time on. This isn’t a book you can read in a few continuous sittings. I love Bill Bryson’s sense of humour and this book though a departure from his usual narrative of travel adventure is still humorous. It’s informational and detailed and answered a number of questions I had about the origins of certain Americanisms.
When I picked it up I didn’t know it was fiction. I started reading it and found it really funny. Some of it is really hilarious especially Pol’s interaction with Benoit and his courgette escapades. I’ve been reading serious non-fiction and this was a welcome change.
