I got this as a hold from the library but I haven’t actually started reading it yet. Paperback.

Like mulvahill, I am embarraed to watch this show. I watch so much TV (while doing other things) that I run out of recorded shows to watch. I added this to the roster and it is entertaining, but it’s also sleazy and uninspired. It reminds me of Melrose Place, and even shares an actress from that show.

After my Ultimate TV receiver died I had to get a replacement for it and our other half-dead Ultimate TV receiver. I selected two DirecTV Tivos as the replacements because of cost, availability, and primarily the two tuners. Once you’ve had a two tuner receiver you’ll never go back. If Replay made a two tuner receiver (that disn’t cost a mint) I would have bought that. There are many things I don’t like as well about the Tivo but it is still way better than regular TV. ;-)

This has been a wonderful show from the beginning. The primary writer, Aaron Sorkin, left the show about a season and a half ago. Some people think it’s gotten worse since then. I’m undecided. I have mixed feelings about the direction the show has taken this season, but with the two term limits for president they were going to have to make a change to maintain a semblance of reality. I was appalled when they said Jimmy Smitts was coming on the show, but he has significantly surpassed my expectations. His character is essentially the Howard Dean of the West Wing world. It would be incredibly satisfying if he were to become the next president on the show. My husband predicts that the John McCain-like moderate Republican candidate, played by Alan Alda. Despite my affection for Alan Alda, I hope he’s wrong. I can’t take any more Republicans in power, real or not.

Medium is a new show featuring Patricia Arquette as a psychic working for the District Attorney’s office. It’s nice to have something new and (slightly) different to watch. However, I have to say that as the season wears on it’s getting both predictable and a bit disturbing. The crimes are gorier and less tenable.

I got this as a book on CD from the library. I started it last night. So far it’s not particularly interesting but I’m giving it a chance. It seems to have the potential to get better.
