March 2005 – Book on CD from library. This is the story of two grown men and their mother who is dying of cancer. One son is a translator. Intermingled in the book is the story of the writer of the book the son is currently translating. The story is very character-based and I was a dissapointed when it ended a bit unceremoniously. I like a stronger plotline in my (audio) books.

All done. It was good.

This is a typical but enjoyable Lisa Scottoline mystery about the all-woman law firm that always manages to be in danger. The plot in this book centers around an Italian man who died in a US internment camp in 1942.

All done. I found the main character pretty pitiful. I guess I’m not that interested in a middle aged woman who thinks that her only chance to “find herself” is to look up the ex-fiance she dumped decades earlier.

I started this book recently. No opinion yet.

I stick by my earlier description. The book is interesting but not happy. Some of the characters and plot twists are quite disturbed. Think rape, incest, lack of human respect, and deception in very important areas. At least two of the characters are reprehensible.

Book on CD from library. So far this book is odd, interesting, and unhappy. We’ll see how it rounds out.

This was fine. Nothing special.

I started listening to this last night while I painted sample colors in our basement. I am not particularly sucked in yet. So far it seems to be a standard Alex Delware novel. I am reading this as a book on CD from the library.

Since the basement is almost done I am plotting to obtain a pug puppy. I figure I should learn about dog behavior, training, etc. Paperback purchased at Barnes & Noble.
