So far, so good; I believe this may be Luda’s best; I don’t really care for rap, but I caught some of the songs and it made me buy it; Interesting; like Kanye West’s, “Miseducation of” I believe Bro has something to say.

I really enjoy this film; TCM would air this one a lot; Anyhow you have this patriarch(John Barrymore)who is over this family of eccentrics that livethe way they wish to live; his granddaughter(Jean Arthur)works in the office he happens to be in and recruits this worker to come and live with him and make toys like he really wants to; Jean Arthur is into Jimmy Stewart, whose father is the head honcho(Edward Arnold)and stuffy as all get out; He takes his family to her house to meet the family on the night they “weren’t” supposed to meet so they could get better acquainted and the results are not the greatest. Matter of fact, it helped them to get put out of their home since it’s one of the homes that Arnold want for his expansion project. But things work out and you can’t help but get a tear in at the end.

Actually 365 Health and Happiness Boosters adn this book is one and the same; so I plan to stick to the other; keep this one but will go with other.

I ditched the traditional Christmas dinner and just made this for mine; I bought the stuff yesterday and made it; It used to be that folks loved to eat my lasagna and once before I left for overseas, I made a mess of them to give to some friends. I heard they enjoyed it;

I finished it tonight; I read it through my breaks and I tell you, this book was the bomb; But then Weber’s books keep me going; OK; Charlene, the first wife is dying in the opening pages and askes Allison(remember the fine brother’s wife in So You Call Yourself a Man?)to write letters to each of the women she has picked to be her predecessor; Well, sending these letters out bring hope as well as some setbacks to each of these women and in a church where hooking up with a good man is right on top there with hooking up with Jesus, you can imagine the antics that went on in THIS book; OK, one of the ladies that Charlene had in mind was the Bishop’s first love Marlene, a recovering addict; due to the letter, she falls off the wagon, yet after going through some things, finds her way back to the Bishop’s house for help, which she gets. Lisa Mae, a former first lady, who also received a letter, and I thought would be suitable at first but then showed her true colors as time went on; esp when she and her friend dogged out Marlene by planting crack in the Bishop’s house so she could see it and get busted. Then you have Monique; the church “tramp” who wants her chance at the Bishop as well and it’s off to the races and then some!! The book keeps ya going; I read it in a day and I wasn’t disappointed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

In my honest opinion, one of Terry’s best books. When they did an excerpt of it in Essence around 1989, I was in transition and pregnant, I got back stateside, ordered the book, and wouldn’t you know it? they got the book for me, I read it adn it became one of my absolute favorites. Need to put it there;

So far, so good and Weber doesn’t disappoint you. I got a copy of the book today and was shocked; I am reading it and I hope the best lady wins; OK, the pastor’s wife has cancer and dies; before she does, she writes four letters to four women who she feels would make a great replacement for her and in a church, it’s like competition time and stuff is about to go down; will be back for the rest when I finish.

The haunting yet beautiful theme song to this movie, “In the Moonlight” is worth it; I love it;

Ms Tamara Dobson(who sadly passed away last month), was a bad mama in this film; She will be greatly missed.

Call me a sucker, but I love to see and hear of the average man getting a break; They used to show this film right after The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and now they started showing The Dog Show and folks down here are still sore about that.
