I watched it because of Zooey Deschanel, naturally. But as I sort of tend to like crappy stuff, the whole film actually worked for me. Sure it’s a stupid christmas film, but not from the worst part of them. Sure everyone hates Will Ferrell, but sometimes you just learn to close your eyes.

Strange. But I liked it how it left me pondering.

And I want to work as a writer like that too!

I think Kylie Minogue (already in the ninetees) sang all that needs to be said about the film:
“Too many, too much, too hard,
Help me, this time I went too far”

Well it was like every other Hollywood production, you could have guessed that. BUT Zooey Deschanel in the role of the pessimistic roommate SAVED the movie. I mean, she took ALL the attention.
Well, at least from me. Oh damned, I’ve already seen her in Almost Famous and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, but now I finally realised who she is. What she is.

I would never ever go see this movie. No way. If it hadn’t been lying around at my friend’s apartement AND if we had had something else to do, I would not have come to the idea of watching it.
But I did come.
And the film totally suprised me. It was not that deep or anything (you wouldn’t expect to be either) but it was such a laugh. Far better than all the Hollywood comedies I’ve seen in the last years.

I was hoping the whole film through that it would explain itself in the end. I am so glad it didn’t.

You would think the second part is lame when you know what Bring It On is all about. But this actually works. It just ends up too soon. (I wouldn’t have guessed that I say that.)

Timor is a fantastic song. Although they should have added the line: ‘The reason for choosing East Timor for this song was it because it rhymes with no more.’

Uncredibly good.

I was so hoping the two women would end up together.
