. . . but I’m not sure I liked it. Maybe if I had already been more familiar with hawaiian mythology and beliefs I would have enjoyed it more. I got it as a fun into to those beliefs, but it was very dark and somewhat violent. But then again, take a look at Greek Mythology and you’ll see lots of dark violent stories there. So there you have it.

Not as good as her later books, true. But enjoyable none the less. Especially as an audiobook.

Great Counterpoint to Many Other Parenting Books.

I only finished half of the book, but I didn’t find it particularly clever or amusing. I only very rarely give up on a book, but as this was a collection of short stories; when I wan’t enjoying it half way through, I decided to finish the story I was on and quit. In fact, I was listening to the audiobook which was read by the author (something I usually like) and not even that could save it.
