A story about "The People's Almanac Presents the Book of Lists" — 5 years ago

Oh hey I look for a picture for this book, you know the one that has a black back ground with a White title and behind the Title it names some of the list behind it in red and blue, such as “10 Countries That Use Torture Today” and “15 Most Dangerous Airlines” Yea cant seem to find the picture of this book jacket but I’ll keep looking off and on till I find it.

Regardless of that I fell in love with this book when I was younger say 4th maybe 5th grade, I found it in my dads massive book library (took up his whole bedroom wall from floor to ceiling!) and took it with me every where! The book being so big and I being so small it was a bit cumbersome but I didn’t care, I wanted to devour all the information in this book! It was the first time I actually wanted to learn something!

We eventually moved (as was usual) and I made sure to personally pack the book myself, but once we got to our new destination the book along with the box I packed it in had mysteriously disappeared, to say I was disappointed would be a GRAND understatement. Once I realized it was gone, really gone, I made sure to look for it every time we went anywhere that had a book section yet unfortunately had no success in finding it, eventually I gave up, after all by 8th grade I had other things on my mind (sulking and being mysteriously misunderstood) and gave it little to no thought by then.

It wasn’t until recently that I came across this gem of a book at a thrift shop (while they were having a sale might I add =) and HAD to have it! Lately I’ve been reading it page by page, so far I’m on Page 146 “30 New Names For Old Places” and anytime I find an interesting new tid-bit I take time out to write it in my new note book (bought new just for this purpose) so I can go back though it later to commit to memory or learn more about later =) theirs just something about this book that brings about a serene since of happiness to me while I read it, I truly am so glad I stumbled onto it once again and never ever will I alow it to get lost again =)
