I am currently enjoying this game and I am now working on Hard mode. The transition from Easy mode to Medium mode was challenging because I had to start using my pinky finger on the frets and my hand would get sore after a few songs. Now that I’m on Hard mode and I find the challenge in shifting my hand up and down the neck of the guitar and the increased difficulty of the songs. I’m trying to use alternate strumming to get past the fast portion of songs but solos are still difficult for me. I need to improve my hammer-ons and pull-offs. I’m playing the game less now because it has gotten harder but I don’t enjoy it any less. I just need to improve my playing skills and start memorizing the notes. I look forward to Guitar Hero II and the new addition of the Practice mode which I think will be very helpful.

I quite enjoyed this book. I found the main characters entertainingly funny to read. Dunleavy, the protagonist, becomes paired up with Shintaro, a dashing heroic figure, and the two are destined to protect the land from natural disasters. The characters deal with preconceived notions of each other and the need to depend on one another. I was afraid that the story would be overly campy and filled with over-the-top situations but it wasn’t. Their journey together felt honest. I look forward to the next book in the series.
