This is my second in this series. I love how random they seem to be. I learned nothing new about Aristotle’s philosophy. In fact, I’m not sure there was really any specific discussion of his philosophy at all. But as someone else mentioned you do get a summary of Arisotle’s life and works, so as a history text it is very interesting and enjoyable.

I wanted to check this out to see how much of a philosopher’s philosophy could actually be shoved into “90 minutes.” Basically, you get the high points. Perhaps good for those who want a review.

Or, it could also be a place to start if you want to find out if you might be interested in a particular philosopher.

What I found most rewarding was the contextual and historical information. It was interesting to get a mini-biography of Plato’s life—along with a review of his philosophy.

My book club wanted to read something “fun” after we read The Road.

How I do hate light, trite fiction…

I am not a Star Trek fan, although I know the general story line of the original series. This was an interesting way to recreate the series, both start fresh and keep the same basic structure and characters.

I loved the performances from the actors who played Bones and Scotty. They really made the movie for me.

Uhura, not so much. And what was up with that “romance?” And didn’t she change the pronunciation of her name?

The word that comes to mind first is tender.

A sweet, sometimes very poignant, film about different kinds of love and (no, it’s not as trite as it sounds) letting go.

Life is in the adventure!

Found myself simultaneously liking and hating Russell Brand’s character. I have not idea, but I couldn’t help but think that the portrayal might be pretty accurate for the rock star personality.

The best standing-up-to-your-bully-without-becoming-one-yourself movie ever.

I liked the technique and creativity in this one. But still, I prefer the original. The sequel seemed to be trying a bit too hard. Now, the Army of Darkness awaits!

After seeing this film I was puzzled by the title. At first, it seemed that the movie would have better been titled Lorenzo and Lucia. But eventually, I realized that the title wasn’t implying that it was a story about Lucia and her sexual experiences. It was a story about Lucia and alternately it was a story about sex. The film can be viewed through either viewpoint simultaneously…

The ending was so over the top I would almost rate this as not worth consuming. But the cube itself was interesting, and the doctor and cop were interesting personalities. Could have used better dialogue, acting, character development, and been a little less abstract overall. I can’t even image why they would have bothered with a sequel.
