A story about "Am I Blue?: Coming Out from the Silence" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

My favorites are SLIPPING AWAY by Jacqueline Woodson and WE MIGHT AS WELL ALL BE STRANGERS by M. E. Kerr. Both are beautifully written.

The rest are really good too, and helped me feel more comfortable about myself.

A story about "Empress of the World" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Nic is a lot like me in many ways. She falls in love with a girl, which is kind of weird since she thought she liked guys. She analyzes all of her feelings in a scientific way. But all that analyzing won’t tell her (or me) whether she’s gay or bisexual, or whether what she – we – feel is really love.

Wish I could let go like Nic could.

A story about "Los Vecinos Mueren En Las Novelas (Zona Libre)" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This seems straightforward at first, but I discussed it with other people later and discovered that we couldn’t agree at all on what exactly had happened in the story!

A story about "Juvenilia" — 1 year ago

This book is about my school 150 years ago, so they made me read it at school. It was a heavy read, but it was fun learning what my school used to be like, and it is funny at times.

WORTH CONSUMING!

You know how the story ends from the very first line, yet it draws you in anyway.

Why I recommend "Dancing Naked in the Mind Field" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Wow, a really mind-stretching book. It really challenged some of my beliefs, even when it didn’t always convince me to drop them.

Why I recommend "Linnea in Monet's Garden (Linnea Books)" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Great introduction to Monet’s artwork, and impressionism in general.

Why I recommend "The Cat Ate My Gymsuit" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is a great book. It’s about standing up for your values when most people around you are against them, and the main character learns how to value herself on the way.
