A story about "The Bumpy Little Pumpkin" — 1 year ago
My son enjoyed this book. He now points out the pumpkins when we go to the store. I can’t wait to carve his first pumpkin with him. This was a good prep book for that.

My son absolutely loved this book, he would want me to read it over and over again. He is now bottle free, by the way, so this book was definitely worth reading.
This was not one of her better books, but then again it is a compilation of short stories in which some seem to be from her early writing days. Many of the stories lack the depth of her more recent work, but there are a few in this collection that make this book worth reading.
I checked this out of the library and just couldn’t get into the writer’s style of writing. I even renewed it to try and give it another try before I returned it, but I kept falling asleep before I could even get finished with the first chapter. I don’t think I will try to check it out again. It just didn’t catch my attention like a good book should.
This is a treasure trove of information and instructions on how to be self sufficient. Most people now a days don’t even know how to do a quarter of the things in this book. I read this book back when I was in Girl Scouts and fell in love with it because of all the practical things it showed a person how to do. I have recently purchased the third edition for me and my son to enjoy for many years to come. What a wonderful book!
Hemmingway is not my favorite author, nor is he in my top 100 of authors to read, but this story is worth reading for dialouge structure. At the end of this very short story I am left in a state of complete curiousity which is the sign of great dialouge.
This should be a must read for the young and sexually active as well as the old and not so sexually active. It will give them a new outlook on life and love, by showing them none of it ends or dissipates with age. Love, lust and the need for human contact remains with us until the day we die whether we admit it to ourselves or not. I read Jane’s second book first which only made me want to read her first book even more. I was not disappointed! This is a wonderfully engaging book written by a strong woman willing to go against convention and speak openly about her love life before and after the age of 64. I cannot say enough good things about this book!
I checked this out from my library and this is such a worthwhile book that I am going to add it to my collection!
Well when they said it was EVERYTHING about candlemaking they really meant it. It was very informative and maybe even too much so. I kinda forgot my purpose of reading the book in the first place just because of all the extra crap that they put in. This is a great book to read for entertainment purposes or if you have to write a report about the history and mythology surrounding candles and candlmaking, but as a practical, no nonsense, go to guide for candlemaking it would probably be better to find a different book on that subject. This would be a great book for a professional (eat, breath, sleep) candlemaker.
I could not get into this story because the flow from the very beginning was choppy. It took me two weeks just to get through a measly 20 pages of the first chapter and I still couldn’t figure out why the title of the book was Seven Loves. When I finally finished that first chapter, I could not see putting myself through anymore torture just to say I have never given up on a book. Well, I give up! And I will probably not try to pick up this book again.
