A story about "Iran Awakening" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A very interesting insight into the life of an extraordinary woman and the changes brought about by the Iranian revolution. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who is interested in learning more about the region.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I didn’t think was as good as the first one, but still really enjoyed it. It really inspires me to want to learn about English history. This country has such an amazing past, yet I barely know anything about it as I didn’t go to school here. Definitely something to add to my 43 things…

OK — 2 years ago

This was funny, but not that funny. It was just about as funny as the newer seasons have been, and contains just as many references to drugging/hallucination. Bizarre.

A story about "Eastern Promises" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Some of the accents were a little off-putting, and the over-the-top violence really was not needed, but I really thought this was a fantastic film. I love Naomi Watts – why isn’t she in more films? Responding to thewilyfinipino below, the background for this film is the London that those of us who live here experience. The non-English pharmacy scene, the high-rise estates, the lack of actual Brits!

Trashtastic but awesome — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I can’t wait for the next in the series! I’m sure Kerry Katona did NOT write this herself, but who cares? It’s great.

A story about "Jane Eyre (Penguin Popular Classics)" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I read Wide Sargasso Sea in high school and really did not like it – probably a lot to do with me not paying attention in class, but it really put me off reading Jane Eyre. The only reason I forced myself to read this was because I want to read Jasper Fforde’s The Eyre Affair and thought I should probably read this beforehand!

BUT I was SO happily surprised – this is a BRILLIANT book. I was gripped from start to (almost finish). The ending is a bit saccharine, but other than that I loved this and can see it becoming that rare kind of book that I read more than once.

A story about "The Water's Lovely" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Ruth Rendell has a way of repeating things that she really wants to hit home and that can be kind of annoying – there were a couple of things repeated here again and again (But if she didn’t kill him, why was she so wet when she came down the stairs? Is written in just about every chapter) – but still, I love her and I loved this book. Gripping, fun stuff.

A story about "Breaking & Entering" — 2 years ago

I did enjoy this film, but I was quite disappointed. None of the relationships struck me as in any way real. The protagonist and the friendly prostitute, the overly affectionate relationship between the asylum seeker and her criminal son, the architect and the cleaning lady… none of them felt particularly believable, which I think really let down the rest of the film which was actually quite a good, gripping story.

I loved this — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Despite the fact that it made me cry on the bus when I was finishing it (or maybe because of this), I loved this book.
