Lame conclusion of the series — 2 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

While I really enjoyed the first three books in the series, Blood Price, Blood Trail and Blood Lines I really couldn’t get into the last two; Blood Pact and now Blood Debt.

Blood Debt wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t outstanding either. I would have preferred more supernatural action going on. As ist was, the story was more of a thriller where the main characters just happened to be vampires.
I liked that we got to see more about Tony. While I really liked Vicky in the first three books she more and more annoys me with her attitude. I want to shake her and yell at her constantly: Get a grip, girl! But that’s just me.
All in all a pretty lame conclusion of the series.

Early work of LKH — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

About the book:
Death of a Darklord focuses on a young woman who finds that she has a talent for magic in a land and a family unforgiving of such abilities, and her tragic attempts to redeem herself in the eyes of her family by aiding them on their quest to end the dark magic that has destroyed a neighboring town.

It took me some time to get into the story, but then I was sucked in. It was a different style than what I’m used to from LKH, but if we assume she wrote this book before Anita Blake, she most likely developed her idea of Zombies and Anitas’ animation skills in this book… :-)
I agree that the ending was a bit rushed, but I did like it in a way. It reminded me of a B-Movie Horror flick.
I would have liked to learn more about the land itself. And why Elaines’ gift worked out the way it did.

WORTH CONSUMING!

“Everything is going great for Suze. Her new life in California is a whirlwind of parties and excellent hair days. Tad Beaumont, the hottest boy in town, has even asked Suze out on her very first date. Suze is so excited that she’s willing to ignore her misgivings about Tad… particularly the fact that he’s not Jesse, whose ghostly status -not to mention apparent disinterest in her – make him unattainable.

What Suze can’t ignore, however, is the ghost of a murdered woman whose death seems directly connected to dark secrets hidden in none other than Tad Beaumont’s past.”

This was a light, fast and fun read. Just what I needed. I love those teen books every once in awhile and it felt good to read one of my own books for a change. :-)
I like Suze’s sassyness. Had to laugh about the part with the cat – my cats’ name is Spike, too! LOL
Looking forward to read the rest of the series eventually!

Cinnamon-y goodness — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

For centuries, Chocolate Mexicano has been the celebrated morining brew in Mexico. Traditionally, this beloved beverage was created by shaving homemade chocolate disks called Metate (a blend of ground, toasted Cacao Beans, Cinnamon & Spice, Vanilla Bean, and a hint of Almond) and simmering with hot water until melted. This bold beverage was then hand whipped with a carved wooden beater, called a Molinillo until thick and frothy. Now, SBS Teas offers a simpler way to enjoy this delicious tradition with this easy to use Rooibos Mexican Spiced Rooibos blend. Just add Agua. No Molinillo Required. No sugar or carbs either!

Pure chocolate-y, cinnamon-y goodness! Yum!

Orgasm in a cup... — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

If you like the decadent taste of tiramisu, you’ll love SBS Teas’s Rooibos White Chocolate Toffee Tea. South American herbal rooibos is combined with toffee bits, white chocolate chips and milled cocoa for a smooth, rich cup. Try it after dinner in place of a high-calorie dessert. Caffeine-free.

I don’t call that tea. I call it orgasm in a cup. ;-)

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’m addicted to any kind of Rooibos tea. I just love the smooth flavour and the natural sweetness of it. I’m also addicted to chocolate mint pattys and I should really cut back on those.
;-) So this tea is the perfect substitute. I add just a little honey to it and it’s heaven…

Finally I saw this movie, too. — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Yesterday I finally went to see the new James Bond Movie “Casino Royale”. I was pleasantly surprised! I really liked this take on James Bond, how he became a 00 agent and why and how he became the macho-ass as which he’s portrayed in the previous movies. And I must say I absolutely adored Daniel Craig in this role. Seriously. I wasn’t too impressed with him when I looked at the pictures… But when I saw him on the big screen – oh wow. Definitely wouldn’t kick him off my bed. ;-)

There was nice action going on and what I really liked was the emotional aspect between James Bond and Vesper. I thought Daniel Craig and Eva Green were really well together. Loved the romance, eventhough I’m usually not into romance at all.
The usual humour we’re used to from James Bond was missing, eventhough there were a few chuckles throughout the movie. Some scenes were a bit lenghthy, but that’s o.k.
All in all, very entertaining and enjoyable!

Entertaining! — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This was a quick and easy read, and very enjoyable at that! I loved the various characters – especially Benny with her southern charms (I swear, I could hear her drawl in my head!) and Cormac – gotta love a gay vampire. giggles I wonder what’s the story behind Mar-Mar and I really hope we get to read more about her in the future. I also adored the idea of the bat-like vampire shape. Very nice! (and yes, I think bats are very cute!)

I’m very much looking forward to read more about the adventures of Team Darkwing!

Ha! I’ve been waiting for a Swiss Vampire! (o.k., if he’s really Swiss is open to interpretation, but hey! The guys name is Lucern!)
That was a fun, fluffy read, I enjoyed it very much! There were some hilarious scenes, my favourite being the one with the condoms… ROFL I think that was the funniest erotic scene I’ve ever read.
LOVED the references to Buffy and Angel!
More on the romance side than I usually read, but still very enjoyable.

Quite entertaining — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A very entertaining read! The story kept me interested from the start. The author knows her witchcraft, thus everything witchy seemed quite real. Nice take on the vampire legend. Some story lines were left open and I wonder if the author has already a sequel in peto to wrap those up? I’d really like to know what’s gonna happen to Tereza and Matyas.
