A review of "Ringu 0" (rated 3 stars)

Ringu 0

by Norio Tsuruta

It completes the Ring Cycle, but there isn’t much horror and lots of backstory.

HOWEVER

The end sequence before the well sequence – pure creepiness!

Why I gave up consuming "The Historian"

The Historian

by Elizabeth Kostova

I’ll try again in the future, perhaps actually reading it.

I had been listening to the audio version, but the narrator has a voice that grates on my nerves and it’s done in a multiple reader style that I can’t get into.

The 1962 Corvair was scarier (rated 2 stars)

Black Cadillac

by John Murlowski

I’m not going to write a full review of this movie because there are people out there that have done it better and with more eloquence, I can at least implore you to save your money and your Blockbuster/Netflix queue spot for something with more teeth.

Two brothers and a best friend are tormented through the backwoods of Wisconsin by a menancing black cadillac. The end.

It’s supposedly based actual event, which means without spicing it up with a little language, some “tension”, and a way-iffy cop, it would have been like any other long drive through backroads, and the audience would have been luilled to sleep by the sounds of the wheels on the road.

Really, there have been other “Terrorizing Driver” movies that are more worth your time – Joy Ride (Steve Zahn, Leelee Sobieski, Paul Walker) and of course Duel (Dennis Weaver). Save your slots and rent those instead.
