I found more good (or at least honest) writing in the afterword and acknowledgements than in any other part of the book. The dialogue was tough to follow at times, and while the story is interesting, the characters seemed to be intentionally weak in what I believe is the hoped for (and failed IMHO) attempt to create a readership for the proposed series.

Not for the faint of heart, a tough read and you must like the genre.
