NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I was so disappointed by this. I have been a Jon Stewart fan for as long as I can remember. This book was just disappointing. A collection of brief “essays” that are mostly written from the POV of various historical and cultural characters (i.e. an article written by Martha Stewart for her magazine, or the transcript of an interview with Hitler on Larry King). The sad thing was that not only were these not funny, some were just boring or stupid. I was VERY disappointed here.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. I LOVE cult movies, but this is a remake which usually leaves me cold. However, this one was really great. Now, don’t get me wrong – it is not a GOOD movie, but I think Herschell would be proud of this remake (and if you don’t know who Herschell is, you probably shouldn’t be watching this movie). The movie was lighthearted, with silly acting, but a surprisingly competent script and directing. This movie didn’t take itself seriously, which I feel is a major component to its success. And the gore was really great. “Hostile” has nothing on this one.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

The movie was only 90 minutes, but at least 20 of those were flash backs from the first one. The hillbilly cannibals are all of a sudden hillbilly cannibals on motorbikes. And NO ONE dies until the last 20 minutes. Need I say more?

WORTH CONSUMING!

Straight up violence and gore. If you love the original slasher films of the 1970s, this is for you.

WORTH CONSUMING!

A fascinating biography of Warhol ingenue Edie Sedwick. Humorous and tragic.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This book reeks of bullshit. The author goes on a wild goose chase across the world trying to track down a snuff film. It reads more like a bad made-for-TV movie. The writing is amateurish. I spent the majority of this book rolling my eyes.

A story about "The Philosophy of Andy Warhol : (From A to B and Back Again)" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I am obsessed with Andy Warhol, so this book fascinated me. Most of the “philosophy” is great, some is a bit boring. Everything is in here from single sentence philosophies to multi-page stream-of-conciousness to chapter-long anecdotes. Easy to digest bits.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is not Chuck’s best. It feels scattered, unfocused, and the religious aspect seems really random. All in all, not a terrible book, worth reading – it’s a quick read – but not the best that Palahniuk has to offer.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

A very rote, very predictable thriller. Nothing stood out. Watched it on cable; glad I didn’t waste money on this in the theatre. The acting was good, and it was only 1 hour 19 minutes so I don’t feel cheated out of a large portion of my life
