Why I recommend "Exit Planet Dust" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Fresh from their losing battle to keep their Dust Brothers moniker (the original Dust Brothers from California, sued the pair for rights to the name), The Chemical Brothers debut album that started in my opinion the sound that would become Big Beat. “Chemical Beats” still booms my monitors!

Definitely one of their stand out tracks! This EP got me through many a grueling weight lifting session back in college! Beat Big at it finest.

A story about "Brothers Gonna Work It Out: A DJ Mix Album" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Many crossover fans had no idea of The Chemical Brothers career as DJs. This album shows off their mastery of a dance floor. Funny thing is that it receives a Parental Advisory sticker for containing a sample, “Take that motherf**ker” that only appears once during the mix. Weird.

Why I recommend "Life Is Sweet" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This single/EP (first purchased on vinyl) must have spun continuously on my deck during 96-97, it was the first place I heard Daft Punk before their big blow up release HOMEWORK. Excellent remixes and great original track!

A story about "Chemical Reaction: The Best of British Electronica" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

The CD is amazing but the title is misleading. This is actually a collection of BIG BEAT tracks by various artists, although it does contain a few remixes done by the Chemical Brothers. The compilation does show a good history of the Big Beat and influences. Track that takes the prize here is Jon Carter’s remix of St. Etienne. “Toe jam… POWER!”
