A story about "Heidi Fleiss: The Would-Be Madam of Crystal" — 1 year ago
She’s a whole lotta crazy!
I'm currently reading 13 books, listening to 0 albums, watching 3 movies, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 0 other things.
I’m a fan of Mandy Moore – she’s not the best actress in the world but you can usually count on her for the cute romantic comedies. And then there is the guy from “The Office” – cute, funny on the series. Too bad this movie totally bombed. Not funny. Didn’t understand why Mandy’s character was so upset about her fiance not having his vows ready (he was trying!). The priest is creepy and stalker-ish. The guy didn’t stand up for himself at all. Totally lame.
Not sure why I love this movie so much but it’s one of my favorite cheesy romantic comedies . . . right up there with “My Best Friend’s Wedding” for me. Best of all, Arie from Entourage is in it! I love that man.
I didn’t read the book but I did think the movie was ok. Not the best I’ve seen but I did like the historical background on the Boleyn sisters – had no idea that Ann had a sister who had a relationship and son with the king! In terms of the plot . . . eh, it was just good enough to keep me watching.
I came to the HP series a bit late having been under the impression that they were books for kids only. I was so wrong! Just finished Book 7 and feel a bit sad that there isn’t another to read . . . Ron, Hermione, and of course Harry became like friends. Great series for all who enjoy themes of friendship, mystery, adventure, and love.
Edward Norton is very good in this film . . .
Thought the last scene was cheesy and unnecessary – I guess it was intended to show closure?
Still, very good movie.
I had no idea that high school debate teams competed in such a high stress, high pressure arena. I was intrigued about the concept of “spreading” – what a crazy technique/skill! However, it doesn’t make much sense to talk that fast – real world applications of policy debate to me would be based more on argument and method rather than spewing as much info as possible in a set amount of time.
The debaters from Long Beach were a breath of fresh air – I was interested in seeing how they did.
This documentary definitely made me think that investing in a good suitcase lock is a must when traveling over seas!
This is a scary scenario and I feel for the woman, Schapelle Corby, who has been convicted of smuggling 10 lbs of marijuana from Australia to Bali. After watching the documentary, I don’t believe that she did it – I don’t belive she would have taken the risk and made so many mistakes if she really was a “mule” drug runner. Can’t believe the courts mandated that the evidence be burned . . . or that the bag of drugs was never finger printed nor that there were any video cameras at the airport.
This book had the potential to be extremely engaging due to the subject matter but this just fell flat. Only engaging enough to keep me reading to the end (grudgingly) but not one I would reccommend. Interesting twist at the very end though.
This movie was horrible. I like Chris Rock – he’s funny!! But in this movie he bombs. Eventually just had it turn it off. Glad we caught this on HBO and didn’t rent it.
