Why I recommend "Mealtime Solutions for Your Baby, Toddler and Preschooler: The Ultimate No-Worry Approach for Each Age and Stage (Mother of All Solutions)" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Some useful tips for feeding you kiddies. What I got out of it (for my 1yr old) is basically, relax, offer healthy food (sometimes over and over and over), and when they are done, they’re done. A lot of common sense but there was some stuff I didn’t know.

Light on Snow by Anita Shreve — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I just loved this book. It read fast but was full of emotional depth. I loved both the characters and the story.

Why I gave up consuming "The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror" — 4 years ago

It was awful. Awful, awful, awful. I finally gave up and didn’t finish it.

A review of "The Seven Year Itch" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Very clever and funny. This movie makes me wish I lived in a different era.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I didn’t love this follow-up to “The Woman who Walked into Doors” as much as I loved that one. But, I did enjoy catching up with Paula Spencer and seeing where her life has taken her. I love the voice of Paula Spencer. If there was a third book, I’d read that too.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is an excellent book. It is the story of an abused wife (Paula Spencer) told all from her perspective. Heartbreaking and infuriating. I highly recommend this book.

Paint it Black — 4 years ago

I sort of liked this book. I found it dragged a bit near the end – editing could have chopped some and the story would still be powerful. I liked the story itself and the character growth and development. It’s a bit of a depressing book and not one to read if you are depressed. I liked her book “White Oleander” much more than this one. One thing I loved about this book was the poetical quality of the writing. The prose is steeped in poetry which added a unique dimension to the writing.

Why I recommend "The Road" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Wow!

Spectacular book. Quick and easy to read. Disturbing and yet hopeful.

This book makes me grateful for all I have – water, food, family, nature, memories, dreams for the future etc. It’s a book that has haunted me since I began reading it and I suspect it will stay with me for quite awhile.

Why I recommend "A Scattering of Seeds: The Creation of Canada" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Excellent book on Canadian history and immigration. Each chapter is a story of a family that immigrated to Canada and then a bried history of the immigration of that people group. Very well done and easy to read.

A story about "Granta 95: Loved Ones (The Magazine of New Writing)" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Great collection of short stories and memoirs. I really liked the story “Year of the Monkey” by Fan Wu and “Every Move you Make” by David Malouf. The memoir “Twins” by Jeremy Seabrook also stuck with me. The photo essay/memoir by Graham Smith about his father made me cry.
