Interesting read. I can’t honestly say I’ve found most of the book applicable to daily life (although it tries hard to be) but it’s intersting. It provides a valuable insight into human nature.

I did find some of Reiss’ theories such as his rejection of the pleasure principle and his choice of genetics over evolution fundamentally flawed.

I applaud Reiss though, for not including spirituality as a value. I would applaud him more except for his last chapter where he does much tip-toeing in order to please the religious right. He does this mostly by seperating himself from Freud, Nietzsche and other critics from religion. I’d rather he point out religions strengths and weaknesses rather than try to make try to make religious people sound “strong” when they’re not.

An interesting read for psychology and possibly philosphy fans.

It’s put up a lot of good points. People assume it’s just another diet book but it’s not (although you probably would lose weight just naturally). It’s a whole philosphy.
I usad to be a vegan but it was really hard so I’ve decided to wait until I’m an adult.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2)

This was the first and last Harry Potter book that I’ve ever read. I don’t see what people like about it. The only real interesting thing about it is the controversy other than that it’s badly written and incredibly overrated.

The way I see it is that Harry Potter will kinda die out after the 7th book. People will stop talking about it, forget about it and then other generations will laugh at it. Everyone laughs at the shows they liked as a kid so what’s going to ensure that other generations won’t laugh at Harry Potter?

Shouldn't Have Been a Screenplay (rated 3 stars)

High Fidelity

I have three complaints about this movie-
A) It was too slow,
B) It had too much awkward narraration,
C) It tried to present a tale of a man who discovers what love truly is but only presented a tale of a man and a woman who stay together because they don’t want to be lonely for the rest of their lives &
D) I failed to feel bad for Rob/John Cusak. He sounds like a nice guy at first but eventually you realize he’s just an irresponsible, whiny, lovesick jerk.

I think the screenwriter should’ve either-

A) Adapted it to a screenplay or
B) Left it as a book.

My Dad says I didn’t enjoy it because I haven’t experienced love. I enjoyed Thelma and Louise and I’ve never been on the run for murdering somebody for trying to rape my best friend. I think the movie just failed to be enjoyable.

On a positive note the acting was very good.
