A story about "Johnny Got His Gun" — 17 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

One of my yoga teachers suggested watching this movie. Apparently her husband saw it many years ago and they were watching it together recently. It’s about a young man who voluntarily joined the armed services. He like so many young men went in the name of patriotism. I know it was during a war, but it isn’t clear to me which one- this is a black and white (older) movie. At any rate, he gets injured and wakes up in the hospital, unable to see or speak. He realizes that he’s lost both arms and legs and eyesight. So he lays in bed with memories… The doctors who care for him don’t believe he can feel or think at all. However an attentive nurse who does an exceptional job caring for him believes he is trying to communicate which proves to be true. He is later observed by an official who realizes he can move his head and uses Morse Code to communicate with those around him. He makes a simple request , which is denied. So he lays in bed I suppose for the rest of his days. It was a powerful movie~

A story about "Seven Pounds" — 47 weeks ago

I have mixed feelings about this movie. It wasn’t easy to figure out in the beginning. The plot seemed a little foggy. As the story carried on, it became quite clear what was happening and I was able to do some foreshadowing… Hmm. I wanted to cry, but didn’t. There were parts that were lovely and others that I didn’t expect~

How "You Can Heal Your Life, the movie" changed my life — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This reminded me of several movies I’ve seen. It really develops the idea that thoughts held in mind create your world. It was a little slow, I guess it didn’t have the same budget as The Secret or What the Bleep Do We Know, but it was informative.

I think one of the most important points I got was that other people are not responsible for my feelings/emotions. I’m responsible for what I’m feeling and how I deal with varying situations. Taking ownership is key!

I was also reminded about the power of affirmations and how life-changing they are~

A story about "You Can Have It All" — 3 years ago

I actually purchased this book a year ago but recently picked it up and started reading it again. Today I was reading a chapter about forgiveness. It really touched me and reminded me to let go of even the smallest of grudges! It stated that when you forgive, you are in effect letting yourself off the hook, because you are ultimately forgiving yourself. I remember reading long ago that the things that bother us most about others are the things we don’t see in ourselves~

WORTH CONSUMING!

Dan Brown uses foreshadowing quite a bit… However the last 1/3 of the book was filled with so many plot twists and turns, I couldn’t put it down until I was finished.

His main character, Robert Langdon was well developed. His depiction of the church and science has been a hot debate for a long time. His realistic approach gives both a historical perspective and a believeable story line. I’ve already borrowed another book from his collection.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’m halfway through this book. My cousin recommended it and I picked it up from the library. Dan Brown also wrote the Davinci Code… which I have yet to either see or read. This book is full of interesting facts. It certainly is an interesting read~

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie is a “Must See!” Al Gore exposes the environmental consequences we’re now going through… and the little things we can do to begin to correct them.

If you have any questions about the rise in Hurricanes, Tsumamis and other natural disasters put your shoes on and go see this film. Take someone with you!

A story about "Monster House" — 3 years ago

I took my daughter to the movies this afternoon, unfortunately, I fell asleep on this one… I did like the beginning which was a nice fall scene and a girl on a trike. The ending was not what I expected…

WORTH CONSUMING!

I enjoyed this movie… I found it insightful and shed some light on a population of people who have 4th dimensional ‘gifts’. Though not everyone believes in the supernatural, I do. I believe that being open expands the experiences we have in life, the possibilities that truly exist, and freedom from the limited perspectives of those who are too afraid to venture out of their comfort zone~
