NOT WORTH CONSUMING

it was long ago, but i remember that i was very disappointed—language is too plain (not that plainness is bad, but it depends on plainnes doesn’t it?) plot poor, etc. etc. no feelings or emotions triggered whatsoever! generally i think kundera is too overhyped.

A story about "Donnie Darko" — 2 years ago

i just dont understand why theres so much fuss made about this movie. its ok i guess, the acting is good, mostly i liked the satirical portrayals of some of the teachers and the “fear-love” guy, so cheezy, but the rest, well, i guess its kind of an adaptation of ray bradbury-s “scythe”. id much prefer that story to this film. overall, the film is not as deep as it was probably intended to be and many people consider it to be. but its a good try. oh, yes, and the coolest one is mommy darko:)

A story about "99 francs: Roman" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

this guy is a genius. well, he wants to make money out of his books (esp. windows of the world on 9/11), but who doesnt? at the same time his humour and straightforwardness make a very good book. very thruthful and funny description of today’s advertising world, with its consequences. reminded me a lot of Pelevin’s Generation P—the difference is that the latter depicts post soviet era marketing/advertisement mania, which is hilarious in its own way. if we consider that beigbeder in one of his interviews said he reads Pelevin, and 99 francs were written after Generation P….:))

WORTH CONSUMING!

This has been my favorite album of all times since 1996. i lived in states and heard of Alanis all the time, but never bought the cd. then before leaving i did and loved it completely! generally i find it really difficult to listen to albums from beginning to the end, i think its boring and most of the time songs are too similar to each other. i always prefer mixes or soundtracks. but this album is one of the few ones that does not bore me—its just the best!

WORTH CONSUMING!

hm. really different. and the acting was brilliant. cate blanchett is my absolute favorite. the plot is not too eloquent and is kind of similar to other maniacal-type movies, with crooked endings, but overall a very good film.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Very very touching, funny and sad at the same time. real life story of a small boy growing up in soviet era, with painfully familiar food items, toys and phrases. Crazy granny, sick boy and a lot of feelings beneath the harsh words..

WORTH CONSUMING!

i just re-read it after long time and was amazed with how differently i understood it this time, plus how profound and deep his ideas are while the telling manner is of a fairy tale. If u have lived in the era of communism and/or turbulent revolutions, definitely recommended.
