It’s tasty, it’s organic. You’d expect a company known for its quality soy sauce to make a really good soy milk, and you’d be right. It comes in several varieties, but I have yet to find one I wouldn’t recommend.
As a kid, I remember watching this with my dad on the local PBS station. Lately I’ve been watching it all over again, checking out DVDs from the library. I think I may have to break down and buy it for myself. I do think this may be the best television series ever made. It’s acquired a certain campy patina over the years, but that only adds to its charm.
In the pure sense of “reality” television-that is, the sense of the extreme game show-The Amazing Race is, hands down, the best of them all. The stakes are high, the contestants are actually challenged, and best of all, the show encourages you to think about the big world that’s out there beyond your TV. Hard to believe that this is on the same network as Survivor and Big Brother. Can’t wait for season 8. Come to think of it, maybe I should add “compete in the Amazing Race” to my 43 Things.
I confess, this has its hooks in me. And it’s at least 10 times better than American Idol (which may not be saying much, I know).
A silly, gimmicky comedy with a thin plot. Yet I love it to death. Dare I say, I sense a little inspiration from Wes Anderson—due not to graceful dialogue or character development, but the wonderful way the story occasionally veers from predictability and pulls the rug out from under you, throwing you for a loop and a belly laugh. Anyone who roots for the geeks and the underdogs will want to see this.
Pedro in ‘08!
I don’t know. Maybe I need time to digest this. Or maybe I need to read more hard-boiled detective stories, as this was my first. Making the detective a Thai Buddhist is certainly a unique angle. I don’t know. There were things to like about this book, but other things that seemed gratuitous to me. Like I said, maybe it just needs time to settle in my stomach.
