Not sure I like it (rated 3 stars)

It got rave reviews on Amazon so I gave it a shot. It’s not nearly as good as I hoped it would be.

But maybe that’s because we haven’t gotten to the good stuff yet – the first book ends before Mr. Darcy declares himself to Lizzy Bennet. Maybe it’ll get better once he does that.

Great addition (rated 4 stars)

Vance

If you are interested in WWII history and even more so of escape attempts from the various Nazi war camps, then this book is definitely for you. This book details the multiple attempts of inmates at a German camp, including the Great Escape – 87 inmates in one night. Despite the known outcome (50 escapees out of 73 captured were shot) it is still a fascinating book and well worth checking out!

Came back for “The Last Juror” and decided to keep going. This book wasn’t horrible, but it could have been better. Do I recommend it? Yes, if only because I REALLY want to go to Bologna on vacation now. Sounds divine.

Well imagine how quickly I fell in love with this historical fiction dedicated to Mary Boleyn, King Henry’s original choice as mistress – as opposed to Mary’s older sister Anne. The fact and fiction blend so seamlessly that I never doubted a word I read. It took forever to read but is well worth the effort. A fantastic read!

Set in the 1400s, it tells the tale of a young girl who goes undercover as a squire to keep from being forced to be the chambermaid to the local evil landowner. Working to ensure religious freedom as well as maintain her cover, it’s an intriguing tale and I can’t wait to read the second book the series.

A story about "Making Minty Malone"

Making Minty Malone

by Isabel Wolff

I really enjoy Isabel Wolff’s writing – I’d easily compare her to Elinor Lipman, another favorite of mine. The characters are easy to fall in love with in their quirkiness, and yet never fall into caricature (sp). A fun read!

A story about "The Guardian (O'Malley #2)"

The Guardian (O'Malley #2)

by Dee Henderson

Henderson may not be able to write romantic chemistry well, but her plotlines are fun nontheless. The second on the O’Malley series didn’t disappoint and I look forward to the third.

A story about "Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation"

Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation

by Joseph J. Ellis

The first chapter was a bit boring, but I stuck with it, and the next few chapters didn’t disappoint. The last chapter had me flagging a bit, but in the end I thought this was a decent book, and I’ll be reading more Revolutionary books in the future thanks to this one!

Far superior to the “Left Behind” books, I’ll be recommending this to anyone interested in escatological fiction.
