Not sure I like it — 6 years ago

I bought this because I’m a huge fan of “Pride and Prejudice” and thought it would be fun to read the same story from the few of Mr. Darcy. It got rave reviews on Amazon so I gave it a shot. It’s not nearly as good as I hoped it would be.

But maybe that’s because we haven’t gotten to the good stuff yet – the first book ends before Mr. Darcy declares himself to Lizzy Bennet. Maybe it’ll get better once he does that.

WORTH CONSUMING!

If you are interested in WWII history and even more so of escape attempts from the various Nazi war camps, then this book is definitely for you. This book details the multiple attempts of inmates at a German camp, including the Great Escape – 87 inmates in one night. Despite the known outcome (50 escapees out of 73 captured were shot) it is still a fascinating book and well worth checking out!

WORTH CONSUMING!

while I do say that this book is worth consuming, this book was strictly pulp fiction. I won’t be reading the remainder of the series, but this book was entertaining enough.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Not that any of her books are truly “great” but this one was less schlocky than others. Oh the end was still saccharine, but I didn’t cringe with every turn of the page. Sheesh, judging this review you’d think I hated reading her books! lol

WORTH CONSUMING!

I took a break from Grisham for a while when his books became a bit boring. Came back for “The Last Juror” and decided to keep going. This book wasn’t horrible, but it could have been better. Do I recommend it? Yes, if only because I REALLY want to go to Bologna on vacation now. Sounds divine.

A story about "Life of Pi" — 7 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book was absolutely exceptional. From page one I was drawn in and by the last 50 pages I couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend this one to anyone!

A story about "A Prayer for Owen Meany" — 9 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I think this is the best book ever written and is quite profound. Edging between laughter and tears at all times, this book was a joy to read! I’ve loaned it to many friends who have in turn bought their own copy and loaned it to others! Brilliant!

A story about "It's My F---ing Birthday: A Novel" — 9 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This is the anti-Bridget Jones, but is just as funny. The former David Letterman writer shines in her storytelling, and deserves much praise for her effort!

A story about "Microserfs" — 9 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This one is a classic and one of those few “laughing out loud in public” books. I couldn’t put it down and completely loved all the characters. A must have for any serious reader!

A story about "About a Boy" — 9 years ago

I read this book a few years ago and love it’s snarkiness. If you liked the movie, you’ll love the book.
