How "cucumber sandwiches" changed my life — 31 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

As a kid I ate a lot of cucumber sandwiches, probably because they’re simple, easy to make, and always delicious. My adult life has been lacking these sandwiches, up until today.

A story about "Chip Butty" — 31 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I considered “what is your favourite food?” to be one of life’s most difficult questions to answer. I’ve thought “maybe potatoes or bread” as those are staples, delicious, satisfying and there’s such a huge variety of each one. So why didn’t it dawn on me until now that the obvious answer is a combination of the two in the form of a chip butty? <3

No review, I just don't like it. — 31 weeks ago

Wow, this was incredibly disappointing considering how much I like “Writer’s Block”. I only listened to it once and don’t plan on going back to it any time soon, so I don’t taint my appreciation for PB&J. I’ll be seeing them play in the summer, so hopefully the show will be redeeming.

A story about "Valencia oranges" — 32 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

There isn’t much to say about the orange. I am glad that it didn’t leave my hands white, as some oranges do. It only had a few seeds and MAXIMUM flavour. I’d give this orange 7/10.

A review of "A Gala Apple" — 32 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Today I ate an apple. It was a GALA apple. It was organic. One time I bit into an organic apple and a worm came out of the hole it was living in, the one that I bit into! I didn’t bite the worm, but this did turn me off of the fruit for a while. I guess I’m back on the train again. See, I am so sleepy this afternoon, and I thought about some wise words once spoken to me. She said “eating an apple will give you as much energy as a cup of coffee!”. This is what came to mind when I had to make a choice between APPLE and ORANGE. I guess I made a solid decision, because I feel good, and it’s possible that I even believe what she told me. I’ll have the orange later. Maybe I’ll write about that, too.

A story about "Lightbulbs" — 32 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is the kind of album I like listening to when I want to be distracted. Perhaps doing errands when I’d like to have little social interaction with the people around me…first thing in the morning at work…cleaning.

A story about "My Maudlin Career" — 32 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

It is kind of absurd to have to choose between “I am consuming” and “I have consumed” when it comes to music. If I like it, I will continue consuming it over time. Anyway… I really like this album. I do a poor job describing how I feel about music, so I’m going to borrow from some reviews that I’ve read about it. One writer described it as inoffensive and that is absolutely correct. It’s an album I’d put on for a stranger, could play without worrying about the reaction of customers in the store I work in (not that I normally care), could play over speakers instead of with headphones in the office… It’s just good. It’s also really easy to relate to, and that can be summed up by a line in Brian Howe’s Pitchfork review of the album: “Sarcasm seems to be a defense mechanism for Campbell, one that’s necessary because of two very pronounced and conflicting personality traits. On one hand, she’s a hopeless romantic. On the other, she’s very cautious, and somewhat pessimistic.” This describes me, pretty much right on.

I picture myself listening to this album on a bus, windows down, somewhere between Mexico and Chile.
