A story about "Call of Cthulhu: Prisoner of Ice (video game: 1995)" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I beat this in about four hours of play. It had me up ‘til four in the morning. Predictable and linear play, but the plotline more than makes up for it. A must for Lovecraft fans, and recommended for vintage DOS gamers as well.

A story about "Space Mutiny: Mystery Science Theatre 3000" — 4 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This was the absolute worst film I have ever seen. Almost worse than the worst film I could possibly ever conceive. I would rather gnaw several of my own bodily members off than see this again.

When even the MST3K commentaries can’t save something…

A story about "In the Mouth of Madness" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Quite possibly one of the best and most horrific films I’ve ever seen. The female lead is very weak, in terms of acting talent, however.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I am so ashamed to admit to watching this. Andrea and I have a weekly ritual of renting something completely ‘trashy’ for laughs.

A story about "Talking Voice vs. Singing Voice" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Jason Martin places ‘pretty’ pop (still laced with plenty of guitar hooks) on the backdrop of creepy soundscapes. Beautiful and disgusting simultaneously. I like it.

A story about "Killer Condom: The Rubber That Rubs You Out" — 4 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

It’s set in America, but everyone speaks French. A gruff, gay cop gets nude with a boy half his age. They’re about to do it, when the condom bites his dick off.

Wow. My crotch hurts just thinking about it.

Paul Cornell is rubbish.

A story about "Doctor Who: The Taking of Planet 5 (Doctor Who (BBC Paperback))" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

By far my favourite Doctor Who novel ever… Simon Bucher-Jones is a genius. Combining the work of H. P. Lovecraft (At the Mountains of Madness) with advanced scientific concepts, this book is a must-read.

Also: is it just me, or is this about as ‘trad’ as trad Who can get?

A story about "Doctor Who: The Gallifrey Chronicles (Doctor Who (BBC Paperback))" — 4 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

‘You were my childhood hero.’

My main disappointment with the book lies in all the Ulysses rubbish. And Penelope? What the hell. Honestly.

As fanwanky as hell.

I do enjoy the idea that the Doctor is responsible for building a New Gallifrey. The 9th Doctor’s ‘loyalty’ and participation in the Time War makes more sense, now.
