I’d have to concur that this was one of Neil Jordan’s less powerful films; stylish and silly, with only one fully developed character—Patrick/Kitten. As usual, great music. As usual, anger at “The Troubles.” Just…not very fulfilling.

Imperfect people, lots of lies, and endings as promised.

I love Don Roos’ big-hearted sense of the people, even when his jokey plotting drives me a little crazy. Stellar performances by Lisa Kudrow and Maggie Gyllenhaal, and a surprisingly menschy turn by Tom Arnold.
