A story about "Dio Years" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Since I was first introduced to Black Sabbath in the early 80’s (when Ozzy was going solo) to me the Dio Years are the only years. While I know many would disagree, or at least prefer other eras from Sabbath, for me the Dio Years with its peak in the early to mid 1908’s are the true Black Sabbath sound.

So take a trip back about 25 years and remember if you listen to fools, the mob rules !

A story about "Ratatouille" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Disney-Pixar does it again. This is a wonderful movie that does not rely on excessive crude humor or intense action sequences to cover up the fact that there is no story. Ratatouille has humor, action, great characters and most important a storyline that is charming. If you enjoy food and cooking this film is a must.

WORTH CONSUMING!

A very good Rush album that sounds like some of their earlier work. I especially liked the two instrumental pieces “The Main Monkey Business” and “Malignant Narcissism”. As a bonus the liner notes have some fantastic artwork.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Fish Out of Water is an outstanding character in this film. Never speaks, yet steals the show.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I keep listening to this album over and over. Becky Buller is a great song writer (she wrote every song but one on the album) and her fiddle playing is wonderful. It is nice to see some fresh ideas in an area like Bluegrass which has plenty of history and tradition already.

A story about "Weird Minnesota (Weird)" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

From the same people who did Weird N.J. and Weird U.S. I guess they decided that Minnesota should be the third installment. The book covers all the strange items you might find in a state: local legends & fables, bizarre places, roadside oddities, famous and infamous people, strange collections and ghost stories. Not written as a travel guide (no addresses, hours of operation or phone numbers listed), but more like a collection of journal entries giving the history and what makes the item weird or unique.

A story about "Sugar Town" — 2 years ago

An average movie, but it is brilliant to use Michael Des Barres, Martin Kemp and John Taylor to portray ex-80’s-glam rock stars trying to make a comback in the late 90’s.

A story about "A Sound of Thunder (Widescreen Edition)" — 2 years ago

A basic time travel movie – everything is fine until “history” is altered then all hell breaks loose. Only a few scenes are really worth the viewing, but then again how many movies have baboon-a-sauruses?

A story about "Twentynine Palms" — 2 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

It is rare for me to dislike a movie as I can usually find one tidbit that holds my interest, but this movie just plain fails to do that on any level. The characters were dull, the film making was average and the story changed direction so many times that it seemed to be searching for a theme. The movie was bold in its violence and sexual portrayals, but frankly there are many other films that have done this and done it better.

A review of "The Captain and the Kid" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

After listening to this a number of times the past couple of weeks this album is starting to impress me. The music & lyrics are solid as you would expect from the John/Taupin team. What makes this album different is the personal nature of it and the fun they seemed to have creating a “sequel” album to Captain Fantastic. There are MANY references to previous Elton John songs (both in music and lyrics) and to events that shaped Elton and Bernie’s lives over the past four decades.
