I am not into reading about politics so “Dreams from My Father” has been a slow read for me. I have to admit that Mr. Obama’s vocabulary is extended beyond mine, so I have to infer the meaning of words I am to lazy to look up. Also, I do not have to assimilate a black and white culture..much of this book is about this assimilate. I did not get my feelings (resentment maybe) until I read the comment made by his white girlfriend “I cannot be black.” And the white tourist. “Sins of the father.” While I read this book I reflect on my belief that Mr. Obama is a president for the people. He has proved that with determination and hope, great things are possible.

I will be done with this book soon, and I recommend it for all readers. An ordinary man accomplishing extra-ordinary goals!
