WORTH CONSUMING!

I couldn’t possibly say enough positive things about this film.

This is a MUST-SEE for any film lover. Creative, brilliant use of color & characters – This is a visual pleasure laced into interweaving stories that entertain, amuse & amaze. Rich sets & costumes, excellent acting and well crafted themes..this is a piece to be studied.

Full of detail, laughs, & heart.

My only wish is that these fellas (who’ve pretty much only done commercials & other nonsense) keep creating such inspiring works. I could watch this on loop & generate a countless number of flavorful pieces of art.

*Otherworldly* — 40 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Words could not express the perfect magnificence of this film. When considering classic love-stories, Children of Paradise fits every adjective to describe beauty, tragedy, longing, LOVE—I blush even trying to review it.

This is otherworldly. This is celluloid gold – one of the best pieces of writing I’ve ever seen put to the screen.

There are dramatic ups & downs that – even to this day, have yet to be equaled. Here there are engaging, lovely characters that are full of dimension and depth..I learned so much just watching it. During this 3 hour epic, we witness change and growth – painful choices of our main characters and the heartbreaking results, unimaginable devotion – selfless loyalty, and brave acts of recovery.

There has never been a more dazzling, magic, tale of love told through film…and no review of it could do it justice, so experience it for yourself. (& you’ll thank me later.)

WORTH CONSUMING!

There’s nothing to be said that hasn’t already been heard, or read, an infinite number of times.

This film is absolute, hands down, unbeatable, brilliant, comedic perfection. Writing so good it’s painful – this is afterall one of the most constantly quoted & celebrated movies (few films have their own “Fest”.) And it’s equipped with some of the most beloved, well-crafted characters in cinematic history. With such gorgeous cinematography, it made bowling beautiful – it made a slacker a timeless hero, it gave movie-lovers a reason to party.

Like a countless number of other fans, I catch something new every time I see it…and It continues to make me laugh, while amazing me even more with every viewing.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I hate these movies – & the hell that I experience while trying to sit through them tells me that these movies hate ME too.

Why I recommend "Harvey" — 40 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Ahh Jimmy Stewart – the timeless charmer…though never was he more charming than he was in this movie, and no one could have played the part better (to think Cary Grant would have gotten it!)

Hilarious, creatively done (almost every shot of Stewart is a two-shot to include Harvey) and well-acted. That trademark twinkle-in-his-eye when he converses with his pooka is simply priceless.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Not only extremely well crafted, but adorable to the point that it stains your brain. The acting, direction, frosty setting – including all of the kids in their charming scarves & thick winter coats which suits the “cool” love story, or “First-Love” story, perfectly (& of course you can’t go wrong naming a project after a Morrissey song, as far as the author is concerned.)

This is a film that deserves recognition (& certainly SHOULD NOT be remade into some unnecessary Americanized mess!)

Why I recommend "Hotel Chevalier" — 40 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A delicate icing on the brilliant cake that is The Darjeeling Limited (though I am willing to admit, Portman panty-less – bruises and all, may have a little something to do with my reason for loving this short all on it’s own….) That being said, it is a kind addition to the film’s story, and of course, it follows the same unique “retro” Wes Anderson-style that always wins me over.
