I wanted to like it; I really tried to, and I HATE marking any Stephen King book (or any book at all, really) as “not worth consuming.” But after reading Desperation… it’s just not up to snuff and kind of reads like fairly well-written Desperation fanfiction.

I was okay with this episode until the whole “raped by fish people” thing. After that? No. Just… no.

As a huge fan of the original short story (which was actually quite long), I feel that the makers of this movie completely killed it. While it might be a decent movie on its own, I think the ending was terrible. The story ended with a wonderful feeling of uncertainty and a tiny bit of hope, while in the movie it was just… depressing. Not in a cool/interesting way, but in a sort of “Why even try?” way.

I’ll stick to the original story, thanks.
