I am also reading the book as we speak… I suppose I should have finished it before watching the movie. The differences are quite significant. I won’t spoil anything but I do reccomend if anyone liked the movie the should most definitely read the book. Still – an amazing movie and an amazing book. Staggering.

I just didn’t like it. Aside from the fact that the drawings themselves annoyed me, I didn’t really like the story. OK, some of the images looked cool – but they weren’t in the majority either. I love comics and I love Batman… I apparently don’t like Frank Miller. Oh well.

The first time I heard about Scott Pilgrim was last year – day after Free Comic Book Day at Strange Adventures in Halifax – I asked the guy at the desk how many free comic book day books I could have… he told me as many as I want as long as I took the Scott Pilgrim free book. I did. The next day I went back and bought the first 2 volumes.

First Sonic youth Album I bought as a CD. I had Dirty and Goo as tapes, but it was Jet Set that brought me into the modern world of digital music. Washing Machine is my favorite album, but Self Obsessed and Sexy is my favorite song. Great memories of blasting that song at house parties in highschool…

Apparently SY almost changed their name to Washing Machine, but didn’t – fan pressure or something… I think it was Lee who said that in an interview by Much Music at a lollapalooza (94 or 95 I think).

Very good album. Lyrics are extremely absurd – haven’t heard anything as interesting as this in a while, from SY or anyone else. Very Bizarre lyrics mixed with SY’s trademark punky noiseiness, and a little acid rock mixed in as well. UK Special Edition has 2 extra tracks that are well worth getting the import. Hellen Lundberg and Eyeliner are both quite heavy – close your eyes and feel the noise fella.
