A story about "Crooked Little Vein: A Novel" — 47 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I was forewarned by a friend that there might be some “shocking” and potentially disgusting, morally questionable content in Warren Ellis’ first novel CROOKED LITTLE VEIN. Okay – sure it was a little “out” there but it was necessary to complete the picture Ellis was trying to paint. I recommend this book to any one who enjoys wonderful descriptive prose, great character banters, and highly-amusing self-talk, internal dialogue and narration. It’s a short read so take a chance.

For those a bit squeamish and majorly concerned about other people’s reaction, read it in a private location. I read this book on the plane and I felt awful (okay, just a little bit) for the woman sitting next to me. She made a highly-audible gasp when she peeked at the book and read about a pumping party gone awry when one transgender man accidentally injected caulking to her friend’s buttocks. That’s what happens when nosy strangers get too curious about their seat neighbors. I felt just a tad guilty (I really didn’t mean to make her uncomfortable), a bit amused (hope that taught her a lesson), and highly grateful (because it was the safest thing she could have read from the book) all at the same time. However, the book was so great that my neighbor’s transgression couldn’t even distract me long enough to consider actually putting it down. It was all worth it.

A story about "Late-Night BLT Sandwich with Fried Egg and Cheese" — 1 year ago

Adam Sandler’s character in the movie Spanglish was interrupted from eating this delicious sandwich. My kids and I salivated over the TV screen and replayed the snippet over and over to see what’s in it. FORTUNATELY, we found a special feature on the DVD that actually gives you the recipe. Rent the DVD, get the recipe and try it. It’s not a healthy snack but it’s a good sandwich to eat when you’re hanging out.

Why I recommend "Breeding Between the Lines: Why Interracial People are Healthier and More Attractive" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’ve never read scientific research and information ever presented in a way that’s very entertaining and engaging for non-technical people. With the pop-culture references and anecdotes, there’s no way you’ll miss the examples being used. Relevant and interesting reading.

Why I recommend "Rachael Ray 365: No Repeats--A Year of Deliciously Different Dinners (A 30-Minute Meal Cookbook)" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I got this book as a Christmas present. Not only do I like the format, the recipes are easy to follow, the commentaries are funny and I drool everytime I peruse through the entries. Tonight, I actually tried the “Rosemary Corn Cakes with Prosciutto and Chicken Sausages with Hot and Sweet Peppers”. Wow! If you don’t buy the book, at least get the recipe and try it. It’s a must eat.

Why I recommend "google" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I just switched over to the new GMail Account. With the ability to personalize my Google Home Page, I can easily create a communication hub. I’m not technically-savvy at all so the ease of use is a BIG plus.
