A story about "Fingersmith" — 51 weeks ago
So intense! But wonderfully satisfying. Such a great book.

This book is insane, but rather enjoyable. It reads quickly, and it’s Evelyn Waugh, so it has to be funny. Certainly not as profound as Brideshead Revisited, but still worth reading.
I found it pretty, but not pretty enough to find it worth watching. I guess it’s just not my type of movie.
It is so subtly funny, while at the same time capturing the spirit of the times with lovely descriptive language. I found myself enjoying this more and more as it went on. The characters are endearing and wonderfully unique. (Sebastian! <3)
My advice—if you’re in the process reading this, and you’re hoping it’s going to get better, give up now. The descriptions in this book are beautiful, but I found the characters intolerable and the plot uninteresting. So if slow, pretty, depressing stories are your cup of tea, go right ahead. Otherwise step slowly away.
I guess it’s alright. Nothing much happens. The concept is interesting, but as far as the story goes, it just didn’t do it for me.
