A story about "The rise of Endymion" — 30 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

The concluding book in the Hyperion quartet needs to be read if only to bring some form of closure to this amazing series. In it, some loose ends from the first book, Hyperion are tied.

With the ending of the book also comes the terrible lost of a connection with all the characters so wonderfully protrayed in the book. Characters that seem like friends are lost. A tough separation from A. Bettik ,Aenea and Raul if you have been patiently following the tale for 3 books.

Truly spectacular!

A story about "Change of Heart" — 31 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

There is at the crux of the story a literal Change of Heart. Elements of Christianity and faith find it’s place in the book too in the form of the protagonist’s actions. Without giving too much away, he dramatically alters the lives of those around him. And as always with Picoult’s books, the end devastates. Great!

A story about "Endymion" — 31 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

It was a journey that began with Hyperion. The amazing tales of the seven pilgrims will forever leave it’s footprint in my mind. That said, you do not need to read Hyperion to appreciate the fascinating world Simmons created with Endymion. It does however give insight on why things are the way they are in Endymion.

Endymion is, on its own,a thoroughly exciting read – I almost did not want the tale to end.Thank goodness there is still Rise of Endymion. If I was not a fan of sci-fi before, I am now.

A story about "The Fall of Hyperion" — 39 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I was mightily impressed with Hyperion. So impressed in fact that this book fell short of what I was expecting it to be. People were disappearing and appearing without reason and it felt somewhat time wasting for me. That said however, anyone who has read Hyperion cannot help by read Fall of Hyperion for it’s conclusion. In truth, if there was any part I loved, it was the little twist at the back which somewhat linked stories together.

WORTH CONSUMING!

What wonderful story telling! A feel good movie to start off the week with.

A story about "The art of practising the violin: With useful hints for all string players" — 48 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book is NOT for beginners. Just thought I’ll let you guys know before you all started on it. I was lost during the half which delved into the technicalities of finger positioning amongst other stuff. The parts I understood however were good.

A story about "Stormrider" — 48 weeks ago

I love David Gemmell. I really do. Too much of him however makes for stale reading and by the end of this book I was ready to throw in the towel. For fans of war, fighting and sword brandishing.

A story about "Spirited Away" — 49 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie came highly recommended from many of my friends and it does not disappoint. The soundtrack takes on a whole new meaning after watching the movie which boasts some of the most beautiful animations I’ve seen. A fairy tale with ghosts and witches, coupled with Joe Hisaishi’s music makes for excellent entertainment especially after work. Almost guaranteed to grant you fantastic dreams thereafter.

A story about "After the Quake" — 50 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Surreal on one hand and yet that on the other you get the sense that, yes, this could in fact be true, Murakami’s short stories in “After the quake” stirs your imagination even after you have gone to bed. This series deals with the unsuspecting “victims” of – you guessed it – an earthquake. Reading it through feels like enjoying a satisfying snack, perfect for after long days at work or an especially tiresome novel before.

A story about "Shadow Puppets (Ender, Book 7)" — 50 weeks ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

The previous books were absolutely riveting. This one just pales in comparison and you get the feeling that Mr Card is just milking the series of all it’s worth. You will not feel short changed if you are a fan dying to know what happens next. If not, stay clear of this book and the awesome memories of Ender’s game and Ender’s Shadow will remain just that- awesome.
