I’ve read some of Picoult’s books and some have twists at the very last page, some made me tear and this one is yet another courtroom drama that I don’t regret reading. The ending was a little off-putting though.

You are supposed to read Ilium before this. This book is an epic conclusion to the saga that came before and although I read it in the wrong order, this book drew me in with it’s numerous references to Greek mythology, Proust, Joyce and Quantum transportation. Only a master such as Simmons can pull off an ambitious a book as this so beautifully. A must read for sci-fi fans!

I don’t read a lot of comics. When I read this one, I can’t help but be blown away by all the amazing images Thompson draws in his autobiographical comic which tells of his relationship with his brother and his new found love. Also dealt in this novel is religion – Christianity in particular – about it’s mass mentality but mostly about it’s hypocrisy.This part resonated with me. Told in a non-linear time line, readers are drawn into the story with flashbacks and will come terms with the human condition and it’s struggle for meaning.
