Jodi has in my opinion taking a slow decline in her writing. I loved My Sisters keeper and some other earlier books that she has written. I think the tenth circle was interesting with the comic book being written, and the mystery behind her fathers past. I ended up more intrigued and interested by the mother and father and their relationship than with the main character.

The circumstances in which she found herself were horrible but I thought the book over all was some what drawn out. I found myself skipping paragraphs and even whole pages. Which is something I have never done before.

This book just did not interest me as much as the others I have read by Jodi, and at the end I found myself feeling a little disappointed in it over all.

In Her Shoes

I actually managed to finish the book, only with the hopes that it would progress and maybe get better. Alas it did not. This is the first time I have said that the movie was leaps and bounds better than the book.

Jennifers books are pretty much all the same. Same main charater, same location…writing what you know is fine. Just shake it up once and awhile with a new plot at least!
