Why I recommend "Paradise Now" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I subscribe to Netflix and this movie had been in my queue for quite some time. It happened to come in the mail Thursday of last week, just after the “Crisis in the Middle East” (as the networks call it) escalated. Now is an important time to watch a film, like this one, that presents point-of-views and belief systems that Americans won’t see on the nightly news (or any major American news outlet, web, TV, or otherwise). Paradise Now is a compelling and thought-provoking film that everyone, regardless of his or her own beliefs on the issue presented, should see.

A story about "Labyrinth" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie is one of my favorite all time movies… now. When I was a child, this movie scared the bejesus out of me. Funny, considering that such contemporary fare as The Dark Crystal is waaaay more terrifying when seen through the eyes of a toddler. Maybe it was the omnipresence of David Bowie’s package that disturbed me so… now it’s one of my favorite aspects of this wonderful film!

How "Bloody Mary" changed my life — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This drink is a girl’s best friend. Especially delicious the morning after a long night of drinking, a good Bloody Mary is like a meal in and of itself.

Why I recommend "Light Fuse, Get Away" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is by far the best Widespread Panic live album released (so far), covering all their classic tunes. The band’s improvisational nature really stands out on this double album, especially when tuning your ears to bass guitar and the massive talent of Dave Schools. This album will always be in my ‘Desert Island Top Ten.’

Why I recommend "Who Will Run the Frog Hospital?" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book is great for anyone experiencing the loss of childhood innocence; especially young women in transition. The imagery used is flawless, especially in the last chapter: just beautiful!
