A story about "Ultra: Seven Days" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

It’s been made into a TV show @ CBS. See The Luna Brother’s website for more details.

Why I recommend "Strictly Ballroom" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I absolutely love Moulin Rouge and had always wanted to check out Strictly Ballroom, Baz Luhrmann’s first feature. Now it’s no where near as good, but it was easy to see the potential through some of the cliched devices used in this film.

Why I recommend "Dear Wendy" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

There is a feeling of Peter Pan meets Don Quixote who joins the Wild Bunch as they take justice into their own hands all under the guise of the mythology of self reliance.

A story about the last time I consumed "William Eggleston In the Real World" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Was @ the Toronto International Film Festival and I had gotten there just as it was starting and had to go from the bright sun outside to the dark theatre. I couldn’t see to sit in a seat so had to feel my way in – I thought for sure I was going to feel someone’s lap by accident in the process but all was good as it wasn’t fully packed.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I figured out his ringtone and have it on my phone right now.

Why I recommend "Broken Flowers" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

The film reminded me of About Schmidt in it’s somewhat slow pace and dry humour, not to mention awkwardness of a few of the situations Don gets into along his journey. The memorable ‘Lolita’ scene and the brave ending, along with Bill Murray’s fine performance are worth a watch.

Oh, and were can I get me one of those track suits?

Why I recommend "Bad News Bears (Widescreen Edition)" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

On the surface it looks like a kid’s movie, and in a way it is but I’m not sure I’d let my kids watch it with all the swearing and drinking and hooters.

I don’t really remember the original which I saw as a kid but Billy Bob puts on his foul mouth and lazy ass and learns a few things along the way.

Another down on their luck kids baseball movie that I’d recommend is ‘Hard ball’ with Keanu Reeves from 2001.

Why I recommend "Cinderella Man (Widescreen Edition)" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I had been meaning to see this since it first came about, but was just one of those that you know you should see it but there’s something about it that doesn’t scream watch me now!

We rented it with 4 other movies at the same time, then we almost didn’t end up watching it before returning it but finally said no, lets give it it’s chance.

I’m glad we did. It was a bit slow at first, but once the ‘come back’ started the film got the blood pumping and heart racing.

It also makes you think about how spoiled people are these days and what would happen if another ‘great depression’ came again.

Hitch is a good date movie — 3 years ago

The last week we’ve been watching a bunch of ‘guilty pleasure’ type movies, ones we wouldn’t normally consume but needed to give some candy to the brain.

Hitch is one of these, and I’d recommend it as a good date movie as it does raise some topics that would be good post date discussion items.

There was a line of dialogue near the begining that I think is quote worthy as well: “Life is not the number of breaths you takes. It is the number of moments that take your breath away.”

Why I recommend "The Specials" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

It is not known to many people, but if you’re a geek, especially a comicbook geek you’ll love it. Or… you’ll hate it. It’s one of those things that is really polarizing. You should check it out and decided if you have a sense of humour, or not :-P
