HILARIOUS! — 1 year ago

A great read – and the ending had me laughing so hard I was in tears! A really fun take on the Regency genre.

muddier on the palate than my favourite Tassie beer (Cascade) but still quaffable. 3 stars.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Donna Andrew’s Meg Landslow series, which kicked off with the Edgar winning “Murder with Peacocks” continues to delight. Extreme Croquet sounds like a fun sport, too!

WORTH CONSUMING!

Nigella’s newest book – and once again, WONDERFUL. Emphasis is on store cupboard ingredients and fulfilling meals – there’s no excuse for cheap and nasty take away with this book to hand.

WORTH CONSUMING!

One of my FAVOURITE movies of all time. I recently acquired this on DVD.. I’d forgotten how wooden most of the acting is (apart from the MARVELLOUS Danny Kaye, of course) but it’s still funny, witty, and charming.

Oh yeah, this is FUN! If you’re a fan of Jim Butcher’s Harry Dresden series, definitely give this one a go.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Paranormal fantasy romance – huh? It’s a growing genre, and one I’m enjoying. This is the first of PC Cast’s “Goddess” series and so far it’s my favourite!

Mermaids, mermen, time travel… with a sense of humour and some sex. It’ s all good!

Third in the series... — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’m loving this new series from Charlaine Harris. It’s a little bit darker than her popular “Dead” series featuring Sookie Stackhouse, but more reality based. The main premise: heroine Harper was struck by lightning and ever since has been able to find the dead. She travels with her – well, previous books have described him as her brother, but that changes in this novel.
A good read.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’m gradually re-reading all the Mary Daheim mysteries I can get my hands on (as my local town library buys new copies.)

They’re not exactly cosies – but they’re not full of blood and guts, either. Good characters and interesting twists to the plots.
