WORTH CONSUMING!

Another awesome book by Donald Miller. This only reaffirms that I want to get my hands on other things he has written and read Blue Like Jazz again!

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book was so exciting and kept me hooked until the end. It had an awesome story to it and didn’t give away the ending until the ending actually came. The writer told a brilliant story and did a great job weaving the plot and bringing it all together. If I get a chance I will definitely be looking into other things she has written. Has anyone read Sleep Tight or any other books she has written?

WORTH CONSUMING!

Augusten Burroughs is hilarious as usual…his books make me laugh out loud. Look forward to reading more of his stuff, which i seem to be slightly obsessing over…just like Donald Miller…hmmm

A story about the last time I consumed "The Burn Journals" — 3 years ago

I am SO glad I am done reading this book….and not because it was amazing or life-changing for me, but instead because it was TEDIOUS. I like to read memoirs to learn about all sorts of people in all sorts of situations. I guess if anything, I learned quite about a bit about burn victims/patients and what sort of treatment and recovery they go through along with all the potential complications. Yes this book has an interesting story…or idea to it, but that’s because it’s true. I think sometimes people are just fascinated with the very thought of suicide, let alone someone setting themselves on fire. Maybe that’s why they think this book is so amazing. I on the other hand am not fascinated by it, and I don’t think the very presense of an attempted suicide makes the book worth reading. If the book was actually written at the age of 14 or 15 maybe I could overlook the bad writing, but he started writing it at the age of 24. The climax happened at the beginning of the book and rest is just monotonous and drags on and on through hospital days…and then it finally builds up to his first day back at high school…and the book ENDS. It doesn’t even bother to tell you anything about that first day. Like I said, I’m glad I’m done reading this book. Finally.

Why I want to consume "BLACK BOY" — 3 years ago

I read this book, maybe 6 years ago. I liked it so much that I went out and got my own copy. Now years later, after losing the book, the only thing I can remember is that I LOVED it. I am reading it again, and understanding why.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This was a great book. I had little to no knowledge on the topic and it was a great insite. At first I thought I’d have a hard time keeping track of who the family members were but by the end I realized that I knew exactly who each on was. The author does a great job making you feel and gives a good vision to her own. I am gload she decided to share her story and glad I took the time to read it. It’s very inspirational. I’d love to read another book like this.

A story about "A Man Named Dave: A Story of Triumph and Forgiveness" — 3 years ago

I didn’t think the third book in the series was that great really. It was kind of drawn out and I think I would have liked it better to have just stopped after the second book. This one gets a little long-winded and drawn out.

Why I gave up consuming "Blood on the Tongue" — 3 years ago

I can’t remember now if I even started this book. I’m assuming I did, maybe a good 50 pages into it, but I didn’t have any desire to finish it. Maybe because I was looking forward to reading other things, or maybe because I don’t really want to read this? We’ll see if I ever come back to it.

Why I gave up consuming "Unchained Memories: True Stories of Traumatic Memories, Lost and Found" — 3 years ago

I did like this book at first, but it was too medically (duh) based ha. It became boring and too scientific. Maybe later.

I think movies like this just go to show you, it’s not always necessarily the movie that is so great, but the person you are with.
