A story about "Winds Of Evil (The Laodicea Chronicles, Bk. 1)" — 12 weeks ago
This was a good book. I was very disappointed however that the book didn’t find closure and instead told you to continue onto the next in the series.

I really need to finish this book soon. Holly Wagner is going to be leading the women’s conference at our church this summer. I don’t know what it is about the book. A lot of the information and thoughts throughout the book just seem so obvious to me – I feel like I am not learning anything or even getting any need things to think about. What are your thoughts on this book?
I watched this a few weeks ago to get some race and ethnicity clips for my sociology project. Of course I found many clips that worked demonstrating racism, prejudice, discrimination, stereotypes, minority and dominant groups etc etc. Watching the movie as an actual film though I didn’t think it was that great. I could tell that it was trying to say a lot and have a big impact, but I felt like all the scenes were way too scripted. The acting seemed mechanical and the scenes lacked much feeling. I rated it worth consuming because it has a good message to it, but many people are aware and see these things in everyday life if you mix with other races and ethnicities frequently. Racism is not always so overt and dramatic as this movie makes it out to be. I feel like many people watching the movie may see it and think “oh it’s not that bad anymore”...but racism is still bad, it’s just not as overt as “old-fashion racism”. People are still racist and prejudice, and they still discriminate, they just do it more quietly now. It does not mean that it affects people any less, just that it is less socially accepted.
This is taking me forever to read – I guess I will have to come back to it when I am serious about reading the book. It is not that it is uninteresting… I am just too concerned with all the books that I am going to read next, and I’ve already started them. I’ll just have to record the page number I’m at and bring it back to the library before they strangle me or I go broke from overdue book fees.
Not so jumbo..and that is my only complaint. I figured since they added the word JUMBO to the name that my chicken would be on the large size of popcorn chicken..in that arena I was dissapointed. Taste-wise, yay-chicken!
I tend to get really hyoed up about a movie if I have just seen it and I liked it, but really, I saw this today and it left me wondering if maybe it is the best movie I’ve ever seen. I know people will say there are better movies, but when I said BEST I’VE ever seen, I mean out of what I have seen so far, and according to my tastes. But yeah, I love writing and I love to see it have such a profound impact, for the better even. This movie shows the power of one person, and the power of a little change to take you a long way. I can’t wait to read the book. It was very inspiring.
Once I started reading this book, I could not get myself to put it down. I read it in a matter of 5 hours, carrying it everywhere with me. The book seemed to be very honest and endearing. I would certainly recommend this book to those that enjoy Donald Miller (females I would say). I’d like to take the chance and read it again at a slower pace and maybe take some notes on some important messages and words of wisdom delivered throughout the book.
This was unbelievable. I have a full copy of the message but am hoping to find another one like this focusing on the old testament so I can carry it around in my purse like this one. Also I don’t want to write in my full copy.
This book was amazing…I wouldn’t know how to describe why without saying that you should just go read it. There are quite a few points in the story when everything is a little weird but basically normal and just strolling along when the author will reveal something shocking that has been going on all along. It’s like …skipping the suspense if that makes any sense and then shocking the hell out of you. I’m very glad it wasd recommended to me and that I decided to read it!
This book was hilarious, strange, and disturbing all at once. Even more enjoyable knowing that it is a true story, however it leaves you wondering how this guy made it to where he is now, instead of in a psych ward. This book made me laugh out loud and shrink back in horror at other times, but being a memoir, I’d expect it to be raw and real, so no complaints here.
