Cured my fears of driving and flying (at least a little).

My mom gave this to me after her grade-school class read it. It was fantastic, and very moving.
There is a moment in the movie where someone tells the poor boy that he is “SteamBoy.” I love this movie, but I could have done without that. I mean, I figured it out, why couldn’t the character. It’s like the part in Serendipity where the girl feels it’s necessary to explain what serendipity is, as if we’re morons. I’m not a moron. I wish movies would stop calling me dumb.
I think the most important thing in Ethiopian food is getting fresh ingredients. I’ve had good and bad Ethiopian food, and it always comes down to how good the vegetables are. Also, the sweet honey wine is gross. Dry honey wine is one of the most delicious things on earth.
I listed to the full cast version from audible. Unbelievable. Have already started the second book.
This is my favorite Disney movie. The scene where the fairies fight over the color of her dress…wonderful!
There are two reasons to watch this:
1) To see John Wayne as a bad guy (the only movie he is the bad guy)
2) To see the scenes “stolen” for star wars (though they themselves were stolen from Kurosawa)
It’s a really great western though.
I watched this with my dad when i was young. We’d spend an entire weekend watching it, so many hours Saturday and finish on Sunday. I didn’t know if I’d like it when I saw it again, as an adult.
It’s still as stunning, entertaining and wonderful. The story of an off-kilter man who becomes a hero. But what is a hero? And how long can he remain a hero?
Seriously amazing.
This is one of my most favorite movies. I find myself whistling or humming the main theme when I’m very happy. It’s a real nice instrumental soundtrack.
