A story about "Tripe" — 3 years ago
It was worth eating…until I was told what it was.
I'm currently reading 4 books, listening to 0 albums, watching 0 movies, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 4 other things.
This movie wasn’t what I expected. It was sweet and real in a way that I really appreciated. It’s not like those dumb movies that have been coming out recently, which the ads had made me think it would be. I loved this movie.
This movie was heavy, in a way that I could feel it with me for weeks afterwards. It was beautiful and great to watch, but there was a part of me that had a difficult time understanding the relationship. It was hard, and a little ackward and made me feel as if the protagonist was, perhaps, a little off. But it was seriously worth the time of watching it, and I still smile when I think of her love.
Her superstitions reminded me of my childhood…and my inability to tell the difference between cause, effect, and completely unrelated things. And that’s what this movie was, a childlike, innocent vision of love and loss.
Really thought I’d hate this movie, refused to watch it for a long time, then my fiance got it when we couldn’t agree on a movie. It was AMAZING! So good!!! And exciting. This is one of those few movies that entertains like a book, if that makes any sense. I was completely engrossed.
I loved these books, but for the life of me I can’t imagine understanding them to any great extent while I was reading “young adult” books. They really do seem more advanced than that.
Perhaps I was just a late bloomer.
No movie has ever tricked me this badly, except maybe Memento. Wonderful. It was fun to see Audrey Tautou play a slightly different role…but I don’t want to give too much away.

I will watch any movie with Judy Garland and Andy Rooney, but this is one of my favorites.
I’m not a huge Christian Bale fan (I know, the shame), but I liked him in this movie. However, I couldn’t get past how aweful Katie Holmes character was. It was awful! Batman would never be attracted to someone so weak.
I may need to give it a second chance, however, because the Scarecrow was simply amazing…with a fast forward button it may be worth it, but as it stands, the time spent watching Holmes was not worth it.
While this movie was rather predictable, the actors made it worth watching. I will now watch anything starring the main actress. She’s fabulous.
