I saw Nellie McKay perform the other night at Largo. She wore a yellow chiffon dress and seemed just a little tired, but she chatted with the audience between sets and sang some standards in between her original songs. A fantastic and endearing performance. She has a powerful voice and is willing to explore the many ways in which she can use it.
