A review of "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2)" — 3 years ago
It was better than I remembered it to be the second time around, certainly heads and shoulders above “Philosopher’s Stone”.
I'm currently reading 1 book, listening to 3 albums, watching 0 movies, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 0 other things.
Arethusa hasn't consumed anything recently.

Joyce’s excellent technical writing skill enhances the experience of reading this novel on an emotional as well as a technical level. The novel is really absorbing, thoughtful and illuminating in some respects. I like it. I decidely prefer his novel(s) over his short stories (not that those are bad, they aren’t).
It’s not my favourite Bowie album but it does have some of my favourite songs ever like Space Oddity and God is so Good
Admittedly a few of the songs sound as if I’ve heard them before done by someone else, but there are enough stand out tracks to make it worthwhile; and overall it’s another fun album.
After re-reading books 4-6 after seeing the awful GoF film adaptation, something possessed me and I decided to pick up 1 and 2 again. It certainly started out better than I remembered it to, but it took a nosedive around the time Potter arrives at Hogwarts. At this point I think I may just skip and go straight to book 3.
This noir was a lot of fun. Solid performances by Bogart and Lupino and a thrilling ending (loved the car chase).
I need to re-absorb it after that horrid movie.
I’m not sure what to think of this yet. It’s obviously not a story to be taken at the literal level, and after I get a feel of what (I think) kafka was getting at, I suppose I’ll be able to conclude whether or not it was a worthwhile read.
