Shocking — 9 weeks ago
I was zapping along and came to the Belgian channel Canvas where this documentary was on. I got sucked in right away and stayed up 2 hours beyond my bedtime to watch it.
This documentary leaves you haunted and a little freaked. It starts off with the death of Andrew Bagby (in his late twenties I believe) who was shot 5 times. There are very clear indications that the ex-girlfriend (who he just broke up with the day before) is the killer. She gets arrested, then released, then a trial starts, throughout which it turns out she’s pregnant. And it gets even more bizarre. It’s a story that’s really too insane to be real, but unfortunately it is real.
It’ll make you shake your head at the legal system, at the insanity of people, and mostly it will leave you stunned by the bravery of others (Andrews parents) who deal with the entire situation with unmeasurable strength and dignity.
